About Facts Matter

We believe disinformation is one of the most serious threats to democracy! We are committed to raising awareness of the disinformation that surrounds us, while also striving to give people access to accurate information and provide tools to avoid being misled.

Join us!

We have a lot of fun brainstorming projects to help people become more discriminating about the information they take in, and we are always open to new project ideas.

We meet every other Monday at 4 PM at the Green Lake Library. (7364 E Green Lake Dr N) Cookies are welcome!

Defend Democracy. Resist Tyranny!

We created and printed a postcard for distribution at protests, public spaces, in whistle kits, etc. One side has links to several ways for people to engage in saving democracy, the other side presents some reliable news sources, fact-checkers, and some brilliant writers. See the postcard.

Disinformation 911

These cards are for specific warnings of how to identify disinformation and not fall prey to its wiles. We will be handing these out in many places. See the flyer.

"Burma Shave" Disinformation

We made a video of an installation we created at Green Lake based on the old Burma Shave road signs to raise awareness of disinformation and get people talking. Watch the video.

Facts that matter!

Our ongoing project is to create an at-your-fingertips multidisciplinary reference list of relevant facts about often misrepresented topics—and the sources we used to back up those facts. Our topics include:

Women's reproductive rights
Transgender Issues
Immigration and detention
Immigration and economics
Homelessness
Medicaid
Voting rights

This is by no means exhaustive, obviously, but it is a start! Join us to add to the list. See the whole, evolving document.
