FEDERAL ACTIONS
Note: We focus on actions that are easy to do and put you directly in contact with your Members of Congress (MOCs) or other elected officials. There are a lot of great tools to do this (such as Resistbot and 5 Calls).
What about signing letters/petitions you receive online from some organization? (1) Useful in alerting you to timely issues, and in providing talking points; (2) not so useful because identical mass messages are often ignored and most of these requests are followed by a donation ask.
Oppose requiring IDs for voter registration - deadline Oct 20 before midnight EST
The Election Assistance Commission (EAC) is weighing a dangerous proposal from the America First Legal Foundation. If approved, this petition would force every American to show specific documents proving their citizenship before they could register to vote. That may sound harmless but in practice, it’s a massive barrier for millions of eligible voters, especially students, seniors, people in rural communities, voters of color, and women whose married surname is different from birth certificate.
ACTION: Comment Form for Docket # EAC-2025-0236-0001
You can use these basic instructions for writing comments.
Supporters of this proposal are already flooding the comment portal with messages in favor. We need to make sure they hear from us too, loud and clear!
Responses to the government shutdown
Indivisible is working with partners and activists nationwide to form a boots-on-the-ground response that keeps the pressure on congressional Republicans and stiffens Senate Democrats’ spines. We need to make sure our Members of Congress hear our demands loud and clear.
ACTIONS:
Call your Democratic senator(s). Urge them to keep holding the line against Trump attacks and Republican games.

Tell our MOCs no "university loyalty pledges” to trump - Deadline: Nov 5. 2:00pm
The Trump administration sent a memo to nine universities urging them to sign a new “compact” pledging support for Trump’s political agenda to ensure their access to federal funding. Please contact your members of Congress to push back on Trump’s actions. And see a related gratitude post below.
