Did you feel the power of collective non-violent resistance last Saturday – one of the largest single-day protests in US history! This is an indication that the movement is building and we are on the path.
· Listen to the No Kings post-protest call. Feel energized and gain deeper insight into the bigger picture and what’s next.
· Good Trouble Lives On will be the next planned mass mobilization on July 17 (5-year anniversary of John Lewis’ death).
We were reminded on the call that “People are most successful at stopping dictators when the number of people taking multiple actions engaging in non-cooperation and non-violent resistance reaches a sustained 3.5% of the population.” We are all about actions and getting to sustained 3.5%! One avenue is to get involved with one of our teams. It’s an opportunity to work with other WI members more closely in a specific area. Let us know where your interests are: WI Teams Survey.
My mea culpa! So how many were out in the streets on No Kings? My apologies for last week’s mail about the all-up number of folks out on the streets.
Short explanation: Alt Park Service reported 13 million based on self-reporting counts from all rallies. Indivisible and other partner groups reporting at least 5 million based on the tally of counts received from registered rallies. The difference between high and low? In short –registered rallies vs count obtained by self-reporting of all rallies.
